The Pinellas County License Board met on June 27, 2011, and adopted new regulations.
- Option A: Allows for maximum of 6 children, if no more than 3 are under 18 months of age.
- Option B: Allows for a maximum of 6 preschool aged children, if no more that three are under 18months of age, and all are older than 12 months of age.
- Option C: Allows for a maximum of 10 children total, of which, a maximum of 8 children are in Child Care status. Of the 10 children total, no more than five are preschool age and of those five no more than three are under 18 months of age, and of those three, no more than two are under 12 months of age.
- The home needs to have 35 square feet of indoor play space for each child.
- The home needs to have 50 square feet of fenced outdoor play space for each child.
- There must be enough napping spaces, toys, books, equipment for child development.
- You must be in compliance with all the PCLB regulations.
- Of course more paper work.
- Once I submitted the application, required paperwork, and paid the application fee, they would send a PCLB Specialist to measure and check for required equipment.
I have received my new license. Now just because I was licensed to watch up to 10 children doesn’t mean I have to watch 10 children. With the children and their ages that I watch now, I am very comfortable to watch 6 children.
Children News
Dylan has returned from summer vacation and is ready for Mommy to return to her job at Belcher Elementary. Sadly Cayden will be leaving Kathy’s Home Daycare. His Mommy will have their baby sometime in September. Cayden will be going to pre-school part time.
Josh, Cayden, Dylan, Madeline, Ava and Jackson all love our newly updated playroom.
Emily and Daniel will both be going to Oakgrove Middle and start school August 22, 2010. We will miss them playing with us. Don’t worry Thanksgiving break will be here before we know it.
I am now accepting applications for a child over 18 months of age. If you know of anyone looking for daycare please pass my information to them. As always I am accepting names for my waiting list.
